Alas for him who never sees
The stars shine through his cypress trees;
Who hopeless lays his dead away,
Nor wakes to see the break of day
Across the mournful marbles play;
Who hath not learned, in hours of faith,
The truth to flesh and sense unknown:
That life is ever lord of death,
And love can never lose its own...
From "Snowbound," by John Greenleaf Whittier

We had rain again this morning. Angels' tears.

That's what I thought about the rain, until Phillip told me that dad wanted it to rain on the day of his funeral because he didn't want his funeral to spoil anybody's sunny day. Thank you for loving Vann.
I think I've come back a dozen times already to read this. I love it. If Vann had a tombstone, that's what I'd want on it.
