Joseph Mallord William Turner, 1775-1851 (London)
It was said that his last words were, "The Sun is God."
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

That's beautiful. I wonder if the colors of the painting today are the same as when it was painted?
A photograph of a painting is not always dependable. I've seen photos of his work that would knock your eye out, they're so bright.
That's true! I took a photograph of Thomas Fearnley's "Pergola with Oranges" when I was on vacation in Chicago. If you search for that picture online, you find a lot of different photos, with a wide range of brightness. In my recollection, the picture was colored in a very realistic way, very bright and summer like.
